We are Pins n Needles your quality local tailoring service. I am Gurm, your seamstress and the owner of the business. I completed my qualifications with a BTEC in fashion in 1986. I later began working with a seamstress in Barford where I helped her with dress making and carrying out garment alterations in her conservatory! I left her company in 1989 and started working at NEXT in Leamington Spa later that year, where I began carrying out alterations for customers. I worked my way up to store manager and stayed with the company for over 20 years. During my time at NEXT I carried on making clothes and carrying out alterations on garments. In 2010 I set up my own business from home and the workload increased to such an extent that I could no longer manage on my own. I interviewed a couple of very experienced seamstresses and they showed me examples of their work. I even had them doing alterations in my own home and was extremely impressed with their quality. After a few years, I am now back working on my own due to myself deciding on taking on a lighter workload.
